Burlington / Anacortes KOA Holiday

The spectacular Pacific Northwest scenery alone would make this KOA worth a visit. But wait until you see what there is to do!

The spectacular Pacific Northwest scenery alone would make this KOA worth a visit, but wait until you see what there is to do! Take a scenic drive along Samish Bay, hop a ferry to the San Juan Islands or Victoria, B.C., or join a whale-watching expedition. Go shopping at the outlet stores - not far away. Use this campground as your home base to visit area attractions. Groups appreciate the Rec Hall as a gathering place. Enjoy the cool waters of Friday Creek, which winds through the campground, or relax in KOA's indoor pool and hot tub. Have fun with gem mining activities right at the campground. This KOA has long, wide pull-through and back-in sites to accommodate RVs from 30 feet to 45 feet long. You will find plenty of room for your big rig in these large RV sites. This KOA is a security-gated property. Reservations must be made in advance to receive the gate code for an after-hours arrival. Pool Open: Easter weekend - Labor Day weekend. Max pull thru: 75 feet.

I was denied entry to the property on a Saturday at 1pm, And I was very rudely told After I asked why, and then provided proof to show that my family, her parents, and my in-laws were all occupying sites on property, and then had a security guard come out to my car to make sure that I was leaving. I couldn't believe how i was treated and rushed off property. Formal complaint filed on thier website, review left here and informational report left with the Skagit County Sheriff's department.

I should have taken better note of the negative reviews about this KOA. Please do yourself a favor and trust that what people are saying about this place are true. There is no KOA charm or camaraderie. I want to say more but my sense is that the owner(s) is likely struggling and they are reacting by making policies that don't exist at other KOA's and it feels like you are trapped in a sense, making the guests not want to be there. Proceed at your own risk.

FYI When making a On-line reservation BEWARE!!!  When in the reservation payment screen the Cancellation Policy is the Standard Cancellation for KOA $10 Cancellation Fee excluding summer, The ACTUAL Burlington/Anacortes Cancellation policy is in the INFO page on main page of Website. Which is up to 50% of the deposit for Space if notice is not 30 Days notice. I made this reservation on 3/25 and today is 3/29. They will not budge. They have a very nice Campground so it is sad that all the negative reviews are accurate. I have stayed here before (bad experience with management very grumpy and do not care if you are happy or not) and I was reluctant to stay here again but my husband said give it one more try. But our plans changed out of our control so I needed to cancel. I was charged $70.00 for 17 day notice to cancel NON SUMMER SEASON(see policy), which I guess I should be thankful for since they say they are outside the guidelines of KOA POLICY and can do what they want. BUYER BEWARE!!

To start off it’s the off season. I wasn’t a huge fan of the $70 a night but it was close to what we went over for. We showed up 45 min early and was charged $10 for early arrival.(was pretty irritated but after a 3 hr drive with young kids I payed it) we wanted to have some friends and there kids stop by for dinner but was told it would be $15 per person that includes 1adult 1-12year old 1 six year old and 1 one year old. So to have dinner with friends it was going to cost us $60 and they had to leave the camp ground by 7pm. Bear in mind there are NO amenities open. So we we’re told we would have to pay $60 for them to be in OUR trailer. I would not stay there if you want to see people or plan on bringing your own firewood. Because your not allowed to burn your personal or store bought wood. They also reserve the right to change prices when ever they want. Non of this was on the web site and didn’t find out about it until already paid for.
