Clean and spacious campground. Stayed on site 47. Plenty of shade. Camp host was super nice and very knowledgeable. Definitely go watch the sunset from the watchtower. There's a hiking trail right across the campsite that leads to the canyon for great view of the sunrise! Also spotted a group of deer 3 minutes from my camp site!

Even with covid restrictions in place. A little common courtesy and this is a wonderful and educational experience. The farthest point east that is on the trails and wonderful views. Educational.

Nice campground. The campsites are really close and the driveway around the campground is narrow. There is one restroom facility for the entire camp. The facilities are decent. Upon arrival the camp host (Allen) gave us a warm welcome and gave us great suggestions to make the most of our visit. The vegetation is plentiful however like the name suggests it's desert plants. We set up tents and found the ground to be rough with lots of small jagged rocks. We spent some time clearing the site of sharp rocks and twigs. The campground is in the park but at the far east, about 25 miles from the main attractions of the park.

This place is awesome. Bathrooms are super clean. Asphalt sites with dirt camping next to them. Do reserve a site because they do get full by end of day. Alan our camping host is super cool! He has a Matthew McConaughey vibe, very welcoming and makes sure your stay is great! Don’t forget to walk down to the Watchtower to see the sunset!

Loved this campground. Clean. Quiet. Just a 4 minute walk from our tent to our own private view of the rim. Bathrooms, potable water, and a sink to wash camp dishes are the only amenities here so no excessive foot traffic. The camp hosts are pleasant and have some supplies like tent stakes in case of emergency. It’s far from the main crowd of tourists so you feel a bit like you’re in the wilderness, but not as risky as dispersed camping. We got a great view of the Milky Way in the short time between sunset and the rise of the full moon. We would definitely stay here again. To shower, you will need to drive to the South Entrance area before 6pm which is about a 30 minute drive- more if you stop and enjoy the overlooks. These overlooks have few visitors in the morning so it’s a great way to enjoy the canyon.
