Very peaceful, quiet and beautiful. Clean bathhouse. Definitely recommend.

We had a good time camping here back in October. There was plenty of wood for the fire, some hiking trails, and a farm to visit. All the RVs and other camp sites were respectful- no loud music or carrying on. The tree cover is nice, but watch out for walnuts falling onto your head in mid-autumn. Only one person in our 20+ person group was hit, and it was right as we were packing up if I recall. If you forget something Walmart isn't too far away.

We had a wonderful stay here. Peaceful and quiet. Everyone we met were nice people. Deer, turkeys, squirrels, and a fox roam through during morning coffee. This is a working farm with campground in the backwoods of 40 acre pasture. Beautiful area. If your the pampered type camper, find the KOAs, this ain't for you. Our thanks to the family of GFFC, Merry Christmas!

My husband and I had a horrible experience here. The owner was so incredibly rude it was shocking. We arrived around 9 pm and I had been trying to call since 6 pm to talk to someone and advise that we were going to be there after dark. Despite their business listing stating they were open til 9, no one ever answered the phone, I kept getting an answering machine. We arrived and it was dark. The office is located inside the farm house, you can’t see where the campground is and we had never been here before. I walked up to the office to see if they had left a map and instructions for late check-ins (like every other campground I’ve ever been to)… nothing. There was a ring doorbell that I rang twice. After several minutes and my husband honking his horn twice, the owner finally came to the door in a bathrobe. Instant rudeness. I don’t remember exactly what she said but it was something to the extent of, why are you honking and what do you want? Well… I’m at your campground office with a truck towing a camper, I would think that was obvious. I told her we were there to check in and that if there had been instructions or an answer, certainly I wouldn’t have felt it necessary to go to such lengths to get someone’s attention. She was horrible. First she pretended like she didn’t have our reservation. When I mentioned I had spoken to her on Tuesday to confirm, she suddenly “found” it. She then proceeds to tell me she doesn’t answer her phone after 7 pm and that despite online advising they’re open til 9, that’s only during peak season. I told her I had been calling since 6. She asked for my phone number to check the call log to see if I was telling the truth. I was. Then she says “as I told you, I don’t answer my phone after 6”. No ma’am, you just told me you didn’t answer after 7, you’re just changing your story to try and justify whatever attitude you decided to throw my way. There’s more but suffice it to say, it was a horrible experience and I will never go back. I’d strongly encourage travelers to go elsewhere.

My son: I liked the amount of area that each group got. That was nice. Me: I enjoyed the solid tree coverage that allowed us not to need sunscreen. The creek surrounding the campsite would be great for families to play in, but not so much for fishing (ankle depth in most parts). We heard there was fishing ponds, but didn't get a chance to use them. Water actually tasted very good from the spigots. I expected dirty tasting camp water, but it tasted very good. Firewood I think was available from the office, but you can harvest from the area some if you've got tools. Didn't experience any mosquitos, but it was still fairly early, and had been dry lately. Very clean air and clean site. Enjoyed our time.
