Helena North KOA Journey

Welcome to the Helena North KOA!

Whether you're exploring the Rocky Mountain beauty of Montana or you're on a longer journey traveling throughout the West, the new Helena North KOA provides a convenient base camp. It lies just half a mile off I-15, with plenty of Pull-Thru RV sites for larger rigs. All RV sites have 30 or 50 amp service, along with a patio area and picnic table. In Helena, Montana's state capital, you can hop aboard the Last Chance Tour Train for an engaging open-air ride around the capitol grounds, through the mansion district and past a restored miner's village. About 10 miles north, boat tours take visitors up the Missouri River through a canyon of towering limestone walls - a historic route traveled by Lewis and Clark, who dubbed it the Gates of the Mountains. You'll find other spectacular mountain scenery to the north and south; Helena lies midway between Glacier and Yellowstone national parks.

Too many repetitious signs saying to slow down. Pretty ridiculous.

Quiet and clean. Get the end of the row if you can - worth the extra money.

This has to be one of the nicest KOA’s I have seen. The place is immaculate! We only stayed one night while heading to Glacier, but couldn’t find a better place to stay along the way. No question, this place gets 5 stars!

Tent camping for the “indoorsy” type of people. You’d get a better outdoor experience from camping in your own driveway - not yard..driveway. Your tent spot is a flat of mulch and gravel, with nothing but a pole fence separating you and your neighbor who is only inches away from you. There are no trees and the tent sites are on the east side so the morning sun hits you early forcing you out of bed before you’re cooked alive. You get electricity, a water spigot, and gas grill.

Campsites just opened. They are nice BUT need shade. Once the sun comes up the search for cool shade begins.. Bathrooms close to tent site closed so have share with rvs, only 2 showers for entire campsite at the time. So that means waiting, a lot. And don't plan om sleeping in, construction on campgrounds all right next to tent sites
