Surprisingly awesome little spot. I was very surprised with the beautiful clear water in the river behind the park despite its location. Would definitely return

No hot water, heat, paper towels or air dryer in bathrooms (not sure about showers; didn't use those). Wifi is $3/day after 1 free hour. (Seriously? Aren't we past the point of charging people for wifi now?) No 120v outlet in site electrical box, so we couldn't plug in our offshore power. We won't be back unless there's no other place to stay.

We stayed at High Sierra in mid february. On the website it said we would have water and electricity. We arrived there and had neither. We know what kind of amp we have and it said it could handle it (20-amp). We needed electricity. So we put together 3 extension cords and went to the next site over (mind you, we’re in front of the river. there is a not single campsite in use by us. i took a picture to show that those sites stayed empty) so we figured it would not be a problem to plug our stuff in. We received a call from the campground host the day after we arrived. She was passive aggressive. She said, “you should know that if you come in february, you won’t have water or electricity”. So we decided to look in to things ourselves. Sites 5-15 did not have water. Sites 5-14 had electricity (ours being the only site without electricity). Every campsite in the upper area (we were down right by the river) had water. Not only that, she told us we couldn’t plug our things in at another campsite because the “sites were filling up”. Not a single person came to stay at sites 5-14 while we were there for a whole week, Sunday through the following Saturday. To add to that, she said they could repair the water and electricity, (but i thought we couldn’t because it’s winter? anyways.) She told us that if something broke with their water or electricity while they tried to fix it, we would have to pay for all the repairs. we are from Minnesota. We came here to see Yosemite. we know what it’s like to experience the cold. the day we left it was -11°. we have a water heater running outside for our farm animals during the winter. we know you can get electricity. we know that electricity works in the winter. we politely asked for a slight discount since we were not informed about these issues. the camp hostess rudely replied with the answer no since “we should’ve known these issues would be obvious”. if it’s true that water and electricity doesn’t work during the California winter season, please let the people know. you can’t blame it on us when that’s what your website says. online it also says there is a riverfront setting. that’s true. when i called to make sure they were opened, i asked what that meant. the lady said it was a beautiful river area with lovely views. that’s true. we loved falling asleep to the sound of a small waterfall. the river water is clean and there are areas to just sit by the river. but we were not told about the facility across the river. with bright lights and big buildings, we were shocked to see it. not only that but across the river you’ll see trash just on the grass. it seems to be couch cushions just laying in the trunk of a tree. you’ll also see pop cans laying around. we understand this is a wonderful price and we’re grateful we found a place to stay. but we are frustrated with how we were treated and things we were not told about. Now that we know what to expect, yes we would come back. But with no warnings, our experience was a little skewed.

Great little campsite! The bathrooms are dated and minimalistic, but very clean. Sites are very level. And there is an outdoor sink with piping hot water. Propane filling station on site. The staff is extremely helpful and kind

Nice, quiet and close to shopping and Yosemite.
