Nice wooded grounds. Very clean and maintained. Sites are fairly level but on the narrow side. Not much grass. Very close to busy and noisy highway.

Always have a great time when I'm here! Especially since they reopened the swimming pool! And now they have pedalcars?! So exciting!!

Stayed for the weekend. Staff could not have been nicer. Kids had a blast (and burned a lot of energy) on the pedal go-kart track. Hosted my daughter's birthday party at our campsite on Saturday. We had a pull through spot with a great large concrete patio, fire ring, patio furniture, and a nice newer large gas grill. Kids were disappointed the jumping pillow does not go up until May when the pool opens. There is construction going on currently and looks like they are updating a lot of their buildings/campsites. We had family stay in one of the small cabins. It was very clean, decore was cute, and they said the mattresses were comfortable. We did not use the campground bathrooms/showers so cannot speak to them. This is a city campground close to KC activities. If highway noise bothers you this may not be the campground for you. It didn't bother us and it was a nice weekend getaway spot close to home. We would stay there again.

For as long as my husband and I have been together -- fifteen years now -- we have almost always traveled and stayed at KOA campgrounds. Their reputation is a safe, family friendly environment that provides a clean, trustworthy home away from home. Management greets you at check-in, then checks in during your stay, and wants to make sure that your needs are met, offering solutions for local dining, activities, and what not as you vacation. But oh, let me count the ways that KOA of Oak Grove has broken the mold and ruined my rose-colored glasses. First: good luck making a reservation. If you're expecting to stay over 21 days (as a travel nurse, my job requires lengthy contracts that sometimes stretch on for months at a time), you must call the office to schedule with management. Anything under that time can be reserved online, and since that requires no effort of the current park owner, you should be golden. It was a week...count it: seven days...before I finally made contact. I called during office hours for multiple days in a row, leaving a voice message each time, and each time growing more and more frustrated. I emailed to no avail, and on my final voice message, I simply stated, "since you're not actually open during your posted office hours, just let me know either way if you've got a spot, and if I don't hear from you today, I'll find a different location." I thought I'd call one last time before moving closer to Kansas City (where I'm actually contracted) to find a "safe" campground for my travel trailer. I happened to catch the park manager, and he claimed he "was just about to call [me] back". He told me that since this (02/19 - 03/20) was his off-season, he would upgrade me to a deluxe pull-through so I wouldn't have to back my trailer in, seeing as I would be arriving at night. Check my Part II - V, uploaded as photos, since my "character limit" has been exceeded. I've got lots to say!

We stayed at this KOA during a weekend trip to see the Kansas City Cheifs. We had our 3 boys with us. They absolutely loved the setup of this camp as there was plenty of room for them to run and play; with an open field, a basketball hoop, a playground, and much more! It is pretty close to the highway but we didn't notice much noise from it! Highly recommend!
