Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA Journey
Lakes and a national wildlife refuge showcase its natural wonders.
Travelers along the Santa Fe Trail used to arrive on horseback or by wagon to this lawless frontier town, where Billy the Kid once evaded a lynch mob. Today, travelers enjoy a more civilized reception at this KOA, tucked into the pinon- and juniper-scented foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Wagon-wheel ruts, 900 historic buildings and the Fort Union National Monument highlight the area's past. Lakes and a national wildlife refuge showcase its natural wonders. Come in for our tasty breakfast buffet from 7:30 am to 9:00 am at a bargain price of only $6.00 plus tax per person. Find Southwest items in the campground store. Pool: May 15 - September 15. Max pull thru: 110 feet. Your host: John Ussery

We stayed 2 nights, they have a few spots that are big rig friendly and they do a breakfast every morning and it was great. The problem is the owner and reason being is he had his dog running loose over the park. I had went in to let them know there was a dog loose and the guy said it was his dog and said it was friendly, he said he wasn’t going to put on a leash or put back in house. The rule on dogs is it must be on a leash and not be left unattended outside. It goes for everyone but him. There was a argument between me and him and he threatened to throw us out. My wife was walking our dog when his dog started to approach. They don’t enforce rules of leaving dogs tied up and barking with long leash lines

Very nice KOA, definitely 5 stars. Very nice shower house, water was adequate, showers were warm very clean. Dog park. Very nice breakfast before our departure, didn't have to worry about dishes or making coffee in the morning.

We stayed extended stay for 13 weeks. The campground is very clean and large spots. Most spots have shrubbery to make it feel private. Did not get to try the pool as it was out of season. Our specific site was large enough to park 2 vehicles beside our camper. Staff are overly friendly and very helpful with all your needs. Wifi is the usual for campgrounds. There is no Verizon signal but AT&T and T Mobile full bat 5 G. Interstate noise is very minimal. Would definitely recommend.

Nice campground! Great location with trees at each site. Very clean restrooms/showers. Susan is the nicest person you'd ever want to meet and she makes a great breakfast if you don't want to cook your own. Easy reservation change when weather delayed our original arrival date and easy check-in after hours. Not our first time and won't be our last!!

Nice place to stay for a night or two or a week. The people working there are great! The breakfast was fantastic! The water pressure was great (they use a gravity system). Close enough to town for supplies and groceries. The sites are mostly level but graveled.
