Newton / Des Moines East KOA Journey
Only 30 minutes east of Des Moines, Iowa, Newton KOA is the perfect overnight stop after a long day's drive. Easy on and off of I-80 with shopping within 1/2 mile of the campground.
At our KOA, enjoy RV and tent sites set in an open, rolling landscape. Gravel full hook up pull through sites and larger grassy back in sites make your stay comfortable.
Our cabins accommodate 4-6 people and are always clean, fresh, and ready for your arrival.
Relax by our refreshing pool (Memorial Day to Labor Day) or bring a lawn chair and cast a line for bluegill, bass and channel catfish in the campground's fishing pond.
Cooler evenings are perfect to hike the adjoining 1 mile nature trail, pitch horseshoes or let your
children enjoy our playground, sand pit, jumping pad and GaGa pit! How about a game of disc golf? Our 9 hole course gets everyone involved and out in the fresh air.
We haven't forgotten your special pet - we have a fenced dog park that it can run free and off leash while you relax on a bench.
Holiday weekends we have special events planned for our campers.
Visit Pella, IA in May for their annual Tulip Festival that bursts with colorful blossoms and enjoy their delicious dutch treats year round.

So far so good đ Some high way noise, but once you close up your camper it's fine.

Tonya (Site Manager) is pleasant, friendly, and helpful. She even gave us a dozen eggs from her chicken coop. The location provides easy-on, easy-off access from I-80. Itâs so close that you fall asleep at night to the sound of expressway traffic đ. To be clear, this is less of a camping experience that a place to hook-up to services, spend the evening in your RV/Camper/Tent, then be on your way.

WE stayed one night and met such a helpful crew. They changed lots for us so we could stay hooked up to our truck without us even asking. When we noticed we needed something from their store after we were set up they drove their golf cart back and picked it up for us. Easy in, easy out off of I80
