Located in a beautiful valley overlooking Henry's Lake. Short drive over an easy pass to Yellowstone's west gate. Should be an easy drive down to Henry's Fork also, so this strikes me as a good base camp for fishing. Parking is on grass and gravel, lots are level, reasonable amount of maneuvering room for big rigs. Gas station next door has good access for gas and diesel for big rigs, although for actual grocery shopping or a selection of restaurants you have to run into West Yellowstone about 20min away. Note, this year West Yellowstone was mobbed, very difficult to get around between the traffic and pedestrians. It was kind of nice to stay at Valley View which is quiet, low-key, away from all the madness. Beautiful night skies. Also way less expensive than staying right next to the park.

This campground is a good home base for visiting Yellowstone. You are about 15 miles from the West Yellowstone entrance. Improvements are being made across the campground. Clean shower house that looks newly renovated. Sites are pull thru and full hookup and ours was almost completely level. The on-site laundry is shared with the town and is only open until 7:00 so it was tough to do laundry and not shorten your day in the park. Owners were friendly and helpful. While you are off a main road the noise didn’t seem to disturb us.

I cannot say enough great things about the staff and campground. We rolled in late. Around 10pm. Managers came out and helped our group of 5 trailers park. Using the laundry mat, our clothes took longer to dry than they were open. They offered bringing them to us so our two year old could play. Our friends transmission went out while we were exploring Yellowstone and he had to stay longer. They moved his trailer to an empty spot, checked in on them, allowed them to stay an extra several days, and gave them a very reasonable rate for the extra time. Absolutely fantastic campground and managers. Sites were level, moderately sized lots, clean facilities, and all utilities were in great spots.
