I had a pipe burst over my storage unit TWICE while renting from Absolute Management / Abbott Storage. They are slow to react; water poured into my unit for two days AFTER they knew about it! They offered no assistance nor financial compensation for lost items. No one was even onsite to assist! Terrible, asleep-at-the-wheel management. Your items WILL NOT BE SECURE at an Absolute Management site. BEWARE.

Rented a UHaul from this facility. When I arrived to pick it up at 10:21 AM, I was told that I was "too late" and that my truck had been "given to another family." (My reservation began at 8 AM and was for 24 hours.) The office itself only opened 21 minutes before I arrived, so it's pretty obvious that they were lying to me and never had my truck to begin with. I was told I had no other options and to call UHaul customer service, and that it was standard UHaul practice to give away trucks. The thing is, I received an automated message from Uhaul asking if I was picking up my truck at 4PM that day. Definitely cannot recommend against this place enough.

I had a storage unit at Abbott West from November 2020 until August 2021. The facility itself was clean, spacious, easy-to-use, flexible, and met my needs. The reason why I would NOT recommend Abbott West to anyone is because I find this company to be untrustworthy. This is because I was fraudulently overbilled multiple times and, despite staff member Dale and others agreeing with me that I was incorrectly overbilled in both instances, the company has not paid me back in full to this day. First, I was overbilled $50 for insurance premiums despite emailing staff members a copy of my insurance policy that Abbott Employees agreed was adequate and checking in multiple times. Second, despite vacating the premises, cleaning out and sweeping up my unit, and notifying Dale of my date of departure, I was billed $100 for an additional month of coverage. While, after much protest and multiple visits to Abbott West that wasted hours of my free time after I moved out, I was able to get a refund for the one month of extra coverage. However, I have not received a refund check from Abbott for the insurance premium overbilling to this day (February 2022), despite assurances that it "might take a while" to receive my check in the mail. I recommend that you avoid Abbott West Self Storage so that you do not have a frustrating experience like I did. UPDATE 2-20-22: I contacted Abbott at the email address they provided below. Shocker - after almost two weeks, I've gotten no response - like any other email I've ever sent them in my life.

Jason at the office was fantastic and super helpful on the phone. This is the third unit I’ve rented with Abbott West (this one is for personal use, and the other 2 were for work). With my first rental unit experience earlier in 2021, we paid 13 months in full in advance, and were told the unit was ready for us and unlocked, so we loaded up two vehicles full of items, and brought them to our unit on a Friday afternoon, and then we realized it was locked, when we were told it would be unlocked. We contacted the office about this, and they told us they had accidentally booked out the wrong unit, and/or someone had moved into our unit accidentally. We still are not sure how this happened, but it was super frustrating. They did not have an immediate solution for us, as we had to wait over a weekend, and hold all the items in our vehicles until further notice. It was not an ideal situation, because I had to go out of town that weekend, and had to travel with my car full of items. Thankfully on Monday, someone from their virtual assistant calling office called me and was super nice and helpful they were able to get us put into a new unit. We were told a manager would contact us, but they never did. It was very frustrating at the time. We have sense rented a second unit for work from there, out of convenience because it is near our office, and we are in the process of moving offices. The facility is nice, and the gate feels secure. The location is very good! It’s nice that they office U-HAUL truck rentals as well. Renting this third unit was the best experience so far, because I called to see if they had anything not listed on the website (because what I needed was not showing as available online), and when I spoke to Jason, he was able to check that for me and update the website with the most recent units that are available, so I’m thankful for that! I’ve had a few times where I’ve called the office (or spoken with someone who is a virtual assistant, who says they are sending my message to the main office and at the main office will get back to me), or emailed in the past, and no one has gotten back to me for days, if ever. That has been frustrating, but to my recent surprise, Jason at the office on site was super helpful and answered my calls both times. I just hope they continue to improve their communication processes, and they put in measures to prevent any client from moving into the wrong space.
