August 20, 2020 One reviewer wrote that the cave is moldy. I'll agree and add to the negative aspects of being in the cave. The positive aspects are few - not hot and not cold , but the humidity makes cardboard weak. Cardboard boxes will eventually fail if stacked. Mold will grow on leather car seats, vinyl seats, seatbelt straps and dashboards - well, just about everything automotive except engines. Management has changed and with that change came a lot of rules to try and make the cave feel cheery. That's not going to work. Interstate Underground is dark, dirty and damp. The air quality is likely toxic due to Diesel exhaust particulate. It will coat your car in one day. What will breathing it do to your lungs? The farther back in the cave you go the worse the air quality. Security is lacking. One of my vehicles was stripped of its injection pump in the middle of the day. Yes - hood up with people taking a $1600 part off my engine. Their security cameras weren't watching. Actually the security cameras are of such low quality that facial features and license plate numbers are unrecognizable. I don't recommend Interstate Underground. You have many other choices. Better choices. Be smart. I gave it one star because it is a good place for storing concrete blocks. It has that value.

I started renting here 4 months ago and couldn't be happier. Everyone is so friendly and helpful from Amanda to Damon and Ron. I am so glad I chose to move here.

They are under new management and have remodeled. Leslie Reeder and Ron Cutler are awesome to work with. If ya need storage give them a try.

I stored my Mercedes Sprinter Van in the Interstate facility for two months starting in Aug, 2021. When I picked up my van I discovered my catalytic converter had been stolen off my vehicle while in storage. I stored my van there because of the security they touted. They have to escort you to the storage area in their underground caves (they do this with a golf cart). You can only access the storage area through a locked gate. I believe this was an inside job. I am guessing I'm not the only one who has been a victim of theft in this facility. I filed a police report with the Kansas City Police Department - case # 21070338. It cost $7,000 to replace the converter and fix my van (the thieves cut hydraulic lines for steering as well). I also had to rent a car for a week. I reached out to Interstate twice to see what they would do to make this right. I received no response. Their contract says they are not responsible for damage or theft. My only option is to warn future customers that this is not a secure facility. Interstate likely has an employee or former employee who is a thief. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Quick in and out. Not as bad by far as some if the other caves in the KC area
