They continue to increase the monthly cost while you have a unit ; require 15 day notice to vacate or charge a $35 fee , if you stay one day beyond your monthly renewal date . You are charged full month . And the monthly rates are now very expensive . I've used them for years and will now need to switch to other companies . However their administration system is very good and the staff well trained in the system .

The service elevator wasn’t working the whole time we were there. We were reimbursed for it somewhat, but that didn’t really help at all after the fact. The locker was very dirty and got all our stuff dirty (we were storing mattresses). We were told at first that we would have 24 hour access, but we only actually had it during work hours, which obviously was the least convenient time for us. Overall a very tedious and stressful experience.

When checking out storage facilities in Boston, I checked out, Public Storage 290 Southampton St. Lisa, the office manager there, was very polite & respectful & very knowledgeable of all of my ?s. Lisa, answered all my ?s showed me around. Told me all that public storage has offer. Lisa explained their payment plans, how u can use an app to open the gate. Lisa is very pleasant to talk to, nice personality, can't wait to start storing my stuff there. Thank u

Overall, I'd have to give this place 2 stars. We chose this place for location (and a little cheaper than others) as it was close to where we were moving into a new apartment. I would say overall, you probably get what you pay for. About a block from the entrance of the facility and up to the fence to get into the facility, you have to navigate through a homeless encampment. I don't have a problem with that as I've lived in NYC and there are homeless people in most big cities. It's real life and these poor people have nowhere to go. Ok, so each time we went to the facility, there was either a security guard or Boston police car posted right at the entrance, so that made us feel a little at ease. Our first time when we got to the location, a nice gentleman (Caesar) helped us with our registration. I know it wasn't his fault, but there are so many potential surcharges on top of the cost of the unit, just make sure you live by the letter of what you're signing up for. So far, not terrible. The biggest problem happened today. We went down to bring some additional articles to put in the unit and the front gate was opened and there were homeless people wandering through the corridors of the units, with one guy mixing a cocktail of drugs in clear sight. I asked a different manager who was on call today if she could ask one of the security members to hang with me until I loaded my unit and she said yes - but security never came. I had already waited in my car for about 15 minutes because I didn't feel safe unloading, but couldn't wait any longer, so loaded my unit without any incident. Oh we also tried calling the main # for assistance and nobody answered, with the call constantly going back to a loop of the main menu or asking us to leave a message. Again, this falls in the camp of you get what you pay for with a twist of a little feeling of unease with the security situation.

I choose this location because it is very close to my home and the prices are cheaper compared to U-Haul and smart cube located around. The keypad entrance is so comfortable and I feel my items are safe. Also, it is a huge plus when you can enter storage with your car. Since this was my first storage-rental, the office manager Bernie helped me a lot and he told all the key points I should know about. He made the process so easy for me! I wish they stay open until 8:00 pm instead of 6:00 pm. Storages I use and I see so far were always clean and easily accessible. They have all the items you might need in their store like lock, boxes, and foam...
